To spend some quality time with your team members, Butter Masala Curry is a great option. We will make this nutty creamy curry from scratch & explore its subtle nuances that make all the differences.
This fun virtual team building event is all about using easily available ingredients. It is suitable for vegan, vegetarians, nut-free & meat eaters.
Don't confuse it to be a regular cooking session. We dance & cook with beats! It will be a perfect cooking party!
Things that you need:
Oil - 1 tablespoon (any kind of)
Sliced White Onions - 1 cup (around 120 grams)
Roughly Chopped Fresh Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Roughly Chopped Fresh Garlic - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Cashew Nuts - ⅓ cup (around 40 grams)
Tomato Puree - ¾ cup (around 190 grams) (yogurt consistency)
Whipped or Fresh Cream - ⅓ cup (around 60 grams)
Full Fat Milk - ⅓ cup (around 60 grams)
Water - 1 cup (around 225 ml)
Chopped Fresh Coriander/Cilantro Leaves - ½ tablespoon
Dried Fenugreek Leaves - ½ teaspoon (optional)
Butter - a small cube (15-20 grams)
Spices that you need:
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Red Chili or Red Paprika Powder - ¼ teaspoon
Turmeric Powder - ¼ teaspoon
Cinnamon Stick - around 2 centimeters long
Green Cardamoms - 2
Cloves - 2
Black Peppercorns - 2
Vessels and Tools that you need:
A cooking pan
A spatula
Any electric blender (to make the paste)
A plate or a bowl
A spoon
Any decoration aid that you may need
Mortar and pestle or a rolling pin (to crush spices)
Measurement spoons and cups
Extras:
We will make the curry. You can add 75 grams of Fried Tofu, Paneer, Boiled Eggs or Cooked Chicken Breast to your curry. Keep it ready if you want to add it. I like my curry on its own too. (optional)
Get your Cooked Rice to enjoy with your Butter Masala.
3-4 slices of Onion, Tomato or Cucumber for the salad. (optional)
IF you prefer:
Vegan Version: Replace both the Fresh Cream and Full-Fat Milk with ½ cup of Oat Cream (around 100 grams)
Nut-Free Version: Replace Cashews with ½ teaspoon of Sugar
